Inhuman Nature’s sophomore effort, Greater Than Death, arrives six years after their self-titled debut, and it’s safe to say the wait was worth it. Church Road Records will be realising this monster on April 25. The album delivers 10 tracks of unrelenting crossover thrash, filled with hardcore energy and metallic violence.

After a gloomy and atmospheric intro, you literally enter the darkest dungeon in which a person has ever been imprisoned. “Dawn of Inhuman Man,” a track that wastes no time setting the tone. Fast-paced galloping riffs drive the song forward. The raw and crusty vocals fit the fundament of the song perfectly. The album’s pacing is masterful, alternating between breakneck thrash assaults and slower, more atmospheric passages that allow the intensity to breathe. Tracks like “Possessed to Die” and “Mad Man’s Cage” exemplify this balance, blending aggression and groove into pit-ready anthems, while others like “Fortress of Delusion” showcase the band’s ability to lean into atmosphere and tension.

One of the album’s most striking features is its refusal to rely solely on speed. Inhuman Nature knows when to ease off the throttle, letting crushing breakdowns and groovier moments take center stage. This dynamic approach not only keeps the album engaging from start to finish but also demonstrates the band’s growth in songwriting.

With Greater Than Death, Inhuman Nature doesn’t just solidify their sound—they refine it, pushing their blend of galloping riffs, crushing breakdowns, and raw aggression to new heights. It’s still aggressive, still heavy, but more refined without losing the rawness that made their debut so good. If you’re into bands like Slayer, Enforced, High Command, Power Trip or anything with a good mix of thrash and hardcore, this one’s for you.
