Roughly two years after Apartheid Redux Jesus Wept are back with their new EP Psychedelic Degeneracy. Armed with a ZEUSS-mix (Hatebreed, the Red Chord and many other hard hitting artists) they are here again to get your fists pounding at the nearest object to you.
This EP takes no prisoners. Four tracks and 17 minutes is all you need to be convinced that Jesus Wept‘s brand of Metal (aptly named “LA-Noir Carcass-core” by us) is here to stay. Groove is an art that Jesus Wept have mastered. Every track on this EP is an invitation to sway and swing along to.
After a short intro “Surgical Punishment Symmetry” pushes you right into the hellish groove that grips you by the neck and won’t let you go for the next 4,5 minutes.
The following three songs including the awesome closer “God Fetish” are all on the same, very high, level. “God Fetish” throws us out of this EP with a kickass guitar-solo and a massive mosh-part, what more can you ask for?
This is EP is just the right thing for a Monday morning, when you need your metabolism to kick start. As mentioned before, this EP grooves and shreds and Jesus Wept still continue to improve in these arts which they have already mastered.
