Voidhra – As the Heavens Bleed Sickness (Single Premiere)

After 4 years of wait, German Black Metal combo Voidhra return with the release of their sophomore full-length release Only Cold Winds Will Carry My Name via Crawling Chaos Records!

With their debut release Sorrow Guide Us All from 2021, it took Voidhra just a brief amount of time to gain a legitimate name in the Black Metal community. Forging a unique style of Black Metal by merging styles that are reminiscent of Dissection with the finesse of perfectly sequencing freezing riffs and majestic lead melodies while also implementing the perishing cold that occasionally reminds of Immortal.

On the 12th of January, it was possible to get a first insight into the album with the single premiere of its third album-titled track via metal.de. The harsh open riffing and melodic Black Metal sound that also convinced on Sorrow Guides US All already is back again, prepare for the freezing cold.

With the release of their upcoming sophomore release, Voidhra justify their position within the Black Metal scene by shifting their tone broadcasting fresh nuances of their characteristic playstyle. On “As the Heavens Bleed Sickness,” especially the crushing strength of the drums summons a sound that conveys strong energy while still bringing forth those highly memorable lead melodies. With no time to breath, the listeners are roughly shoved through this track, which is an aspect that they are going to enjoy when having come back here after Sorrow Guides Us All. When directly comparing this track to the initially premiered album-titled track, it is also possible to get the impression that there is a lot of versatility to be expected from this album.
